DJ Veena Honored with Kadamba Kannadiga Rajyotsava Award

Kannada teacher DJ Veena was honored with the Kadamba Kannadiga Rajyotsava Award at the Kannada Rajyotsava organized by Karnataka Vijaya Sena at the Bhuvanagiri premises of the Kannada temple. State President Deepak.H.N. Mahesh S.R., Shivaputra Ganadala, Ram Prasad, Vijayakumar, Vatsala, Renuka Prasad, Gangaraju, Sudhir, Manjunath, Vasudev, Latha and others were present.

Dr. Ishwarayya Math stands as a fine example of this, said Apparao Akkoni, State President of the Akhila Bharata Sharana Sahitya Parishat. He was speaking after inaugurating and releasing the commemorative volume “Nenape Nandadeepa” at the 151st day remembrance program of Dr. Ishwarayya Math, organized on Sunday at the Suvarna Sabha Bhavan in Kannada Bhavan in the city. Dr. Ishwarayya Math was a talented literary figure of Karnataka, known for his writing, presence of mind, dedication to duty, and continuous commitment to learning and teaching. Implement reservation for the survival of Kannada in the border areas

Mallikarjun Dhvangimath, State President of the Karnataka Lawyers’ Sahitya Parishat, urged the government to implement reservation policies to ensure the continuation of Kannada education in schools located in Karnataka’s border regions and to preserve the Kannada language, lifestyle, speech, and culture in those areas.

He spoke as the chief guest at the 2020–21 cultural festival held on Saturday at Lokmanya Vidyamandir High School in Borgi B.K. village, located in the border area of Jath taluk in neighboring Maharashtra. The event was organized in collaboration with M.H. Patil Seva Bhavi Sanstha, Borgi B.K., and the Karnataka Border Area Development Authority, Bengaluru.
